After the Zuckerberg visit to the US Congress panel over the data leaks of around 87 million Facebook users around the world, Zuckerberg is still ‘hot in town’ and the British parliament urge to meet with Markis finally being fulfilled. Zuckerberg is traveling to the UK to meet with the British parliament over the same. However, I doubt if there will be anything new to hear from Zuckerberg.
The major turn off about the US Congress meeting with Zuckerberg was that the Congress did not even take time to learn about Facebook business model before the question. It was funny that the Chairman didn’t even know how Facebook makes cash until Zuckerberg had to state they sell ads.
Zuckerberg travels tonight to Brussels to face the panel of British lawmakers. Despite the control of the situation, the wound is still fresh in the minds of Facebook users. Facebook has put forward several measures to prevent such an occurrence from happening again, the best of all the full control of users over their data.
Zuckerberg agreed to meet the European Parliament over the Cambridge analytical scandal that affected 87 million users of which 2.7 million are based in the European region.
British parliament media chairman Damian Collins stated that “But if Mark Zuckerberg chooses not to address our questions directly, we are asking colleagues at the European Parliament to help us get answers – particularly on who knew what at the company, and when, about the data breach and the non-transparent use of political adverts which continue to undermine our democracy.”
